Annual Capacity Exceeds 2 Billion Cans! Jiyuan Holdings Solidifies Its Position in China’s Metal Packaging First Tier, with Aluminum Cans as a New Growth Engine

Jiyuan Holdings Co., Ltd., a leading metal packaging manufacturer based in China, has announced that its total annual production capacity has surpassed 2 billion cans, reinforcing its position in the country’s first tier of metal packaging suppliers. The company’s two-piece aluminum can business, in particular, has emerged as a key growth driver, helping Jiyuan capture rising demand from major beverage brands.

Founded in 1993 as Xiamen Jiyuan Enterprise Co., Ltd. and later reorganized as a Cayman Islands holding company in 2014, Jiyuan Holdings has built a strong reputation in the metal packaging industry over three decades. The group operates production bases across Fujian, Hubei, Anhui, and Guangdong provinces, equipped with advanced manufacturing lines imported from Europe, the United States, and Japan.

While the company has long been known for its three-piece tinplate cans, the strategic push into two-piece aluminum cans began in 2016 with the commissioning of the Guangdong Jiduobao plant. Since then, aluminum can production has scaled rapidly, now accounting for over half of the group’s total output. Currently, Jiyuan’s aluminum can capacity alone exceeds 2 billion units per year, matching its tinplate can capacity.

“We are very proud to reach this milestone. Crossing the 2 billion mark in total capacity demonstrates our commitment to scale, quality, and innovation,” said a senior executive at Jiyuan Holdings. “Our aluminum can segment is not only growing fast but also becoming a preferred choice for leading beverage companies in China.”

The group’s aluminum cans are widely used for beer, carbonated soft drinks, fruit granule beverages, and ready-to-drink tea and coffee. Major clients include Kirin Beer, Zhenzhen Beverage, Pukou Fruit Granule Drink, as well as longtime partners such as JDB Group, Nestlé Coffee, Dali Foods Group, and COFCO Group.

Industry analysts note that the shift from glass and PET bottles to aluminum cans is accelerating in China’s beverage sector, driven by consumer preference for portability, longer shelf life, and higher recyclability. Aluminum cans are also lighter and more energy-efficient to transport, aligning with the carbon reduction goals of many brand owners.

Jiyuan Holdings has responded by investing heavily in new aluminum can production lines and lightweighting technologies. The company’s Guangdong facility now operates at full capacity during peak beverage seasons, and further expansion is under consideration for 2025–2026.

“Our goal is to continue innovating in recyclable and low-carbon packaging solutions,” the executive added. “As we strengthen our leadership in both tinplate and aluminum cans, we are well positioned to serve China’s dynamic food and beverage industry.”

With a diversified customer base spanning traditional canned foods, functional beverages, and alcoholic drinks, Jiyuan Holdings expects its aluminum can business to remain a primary growth engine in the years ahead. The company plans to increase its market share in southern and central China while exploring opportunities in export markets.
